OUR STORY

In the wake of the pandemic in 2020, a small immigrant community started helping one another with resources such as access to food, rental assistance, and baby supplies. Two years after the pandemic,  a community consultation was held in Aurora, CO with a local immigrant church, Iglesia de Cristo, Elim Denver. The community members voiced a continuous need around food assistance and family support. Three community members came together with the common goal of supporting fellow community members with culturally-relevant and multigenerational programming. Out of this Oasis para las familias was born. Through community organizing thi grassroot effort was formalized and Oasis became a 501c3 non-profit organization to serve the primarily hispanic community in Aurora, and the wider metro-Denver area.
